You’re Craving Relief From a Confining Gender Binary
Do you feel both overwhelmed and excited thinking about transition?
Are you afraid your life or relationships might change if you come out?
Is it hard to fully accept yourself because of harmful societal gender expectations?
Exploring, understanding, and accepting your gender identity can feel scary in a society that invalidates your experience. You know deep down what resonates for you and what doesn’t, you’re just not sure how to navigate making the changes you need to find joy in your gender.
Pressure to Conform
People who identify outside the gender binary face pressure to conform to a traditional cisgender identity in so many ways. This pressure can come from family, partners, and the media. It gets exhausting to live under this pressure, especially if you feel isolated or don’t have a strong queer community to lean on.
You just want to feel secure in your gender. With the support of a compassionate gender affirming therapist, you can discover the peace and alignment you crave in your gender experience.
Gender Expansive Folks Face Unique Challenges
For trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming (TGI2+) people, identifying outside the gender binary or traditional gender roles often means navigating systems that were not built for you. This is exhausting! For folks interested in aspects of gender transition, there can be many roadblocks and red tape involved in accessing essential gender affirming care. You just want to live as your authentic self and be seen, accepted, and appreciated for who you really are.
Gender affirming therapy with an experienced and compassionate therapist can help you reclaim your relationship with gender so you can feel free to be fully you!

Cultivate Gender Joy
A gender journey is a multidimensional, deeply personal one, and our gender affirming therapists are ready to support you on your journey to gender joy. Whether you are just beginning to explore your relationship with your gender, are already living in alignment with your gender and want to continue unpacking your experience, or would like support through coming out or transition, you’ve found the right place to land. Gender affirming therapy is for anyone questioning their identity, experience, or expression. Your therapist will help you reconnect with your body and feel empowered to redefine your relationship with your gender in the ways that fit for you.
Your gender affirming therapist will help you build tools for navigating dynamics with peers, family, medical professionals, etc. who invalidate your gender so you feel prepared and empowered to set and hold boundaries through difficult interactions.
Unpacking Stories About Gender
In gender affirming therapy you will work toward identifying your inherited beliefs and narratives around gender identity and expression that feel limiting. Your therapist will help you look at the broader context of these beliefs to understand more about where they came from and how they intersect with your other identities. By finding clarity around the stories that come up for you, gender affirming therapy can empower you to rewrite your story from your own perspective, on your own terms!
Therapy by the TGI2+ Community, For the TGI2+ Community
Our gender affirming therapists specialize in working with folks in the queer community and on the gender identity spectrum, because we are members of your community. Each of our specialized identity affirming therapists bring training in research backed methods and clinical training into their work with you. Importantly, our therapists also bring lived experience as members of the queer community to connect with you, human to human.

You want to start gender affirming therapy, but first you’re wondering:
I’m not totally sure what I want out of therapy, but I know I need some support
Don't worry, your therapist doesn’t expect you to have it all figured out! That’s why you’re here, to find someone who can support you on your gender journey. During the early phase of therapy, your gender affirming therapist will help you get clear on what you want from your therapy experience so they can work with you to meet your goals.
Will therapy make me feel better right away?
Therapy is different for everyone, some people find that they feel relief quickly, while others notice feelings of fatigue or emotional discomfort while they begin unpacking things in sessions. Neither of these is better or worse, and your therapist will help you navigate whatever comes up.
I don’t know all the terms for how I feel or identify– do I have to use “therapy speak?”
Short answer: nope!
Slightly longer answer: whatever language works best for you to express yourself is welcome in therapy! Your therapist will use your language, after all, you’re the expert on you. Your therapist will also introduce new words and concepts throughout the course of therapy to give you even more opportunities and tools to express yourself.
