When Everything Feels Overwhelming
Everyone seems to have it together while you’re just trying to make it through the day without crying. Trans, cis, gay, femme, masc, nonbinary—navigating the constant push and pull between acceptance and rejection of LGBTQIA+ identities can leave you feeling confused, anxious, and alone. Your parents and friends ask what’s wrong, but where do you even start? Social anxiety, microaggressions, existential dread—it’s overwhelming, and there often aren’t words big enough to capture what you’re carrying. You’re searching for grounding, guidance, and a space that truly sees you.
Healing Through Creative Expression
You don’t need to be an artist to benefit from creative expression in therapy. In fact, it’s often through artmaking, storytelling, and reflection that clients discover who they are and where they belong. My approach is trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and rooted in queer liberation—because your healing deserves a space where your whole self is welcome.
Let’s Take the First Step Together
Finding calm in the storm starts with claiming your voice and building confidence in who you are. The work isn’t always easy, but it’s easier when you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re looking for LGBTQ+ affirming counseling or art therapy, I’d love to connect. Reach out today for a free consultation—let’s start the journey together.
Queer-Affirming Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
As a queer, LGBTQ+ therapist, I know healing begins with connection and creativity. In individual therapy, I help clients build tools to feel steady in the chaos. Through affirming talk therapy and art therapy for LGBTQ+ clients, you’ll have space to explore feelings beyond words, process trauma, and find new ways to express yourself. Together, we’ll dismantle the barriers holding you back—the ones placed on you by society, and the ones you’ve had to build to survive.
Authenticity to Art Therapy
As a biracial (half white, half Sri Lankan), bisexual, cis-gendered woman, I’ve always danced on the line between individualism and collectivism. Going to school for art therapy helped me realize how they can go hand-in-hand: by being our most authentic selves, we attract our people, and find our place in our community. This is what I was sorely missing in my first career as a commercial artist (I’ve got graphic design, illustration, and animation under my belt), and what I’ve found in my work as a therapist. It’s the highest honor when I can help my clients find it, too.
I hold a BA in studio art from Occidental College in Eagle Rock, CA, and my MA in Counseling: Art Therapy from Adler University in Chicago, IL. I’m an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (#19492 ) and Provisional Registered Art Therapist (#25-431) under supervision of Renae Johnson LPCC (#6018), ATR-BC (#16-199) and Kristen Crowe LPCC (#5451).
Creativity Outside of Therapy
I’ve poured all my stat points into creativity; ask me to do math or catch a ball and I’ll run in the other direction. Although I’ve abandoned monetizing my art for good, I am often known for creating queer fanart and fanfiction for my latest anime fandom. I also love dancing, baking, writing queer romance, and getting way too invested in my Dungeons & Dragons character backstories. When I’m not creating, I’m eating good food, sourcing a high quality matcha fix, or watching comfort TV with my spouse and my pug, Clementine.
